Question of the day

Can any of you think of/suggest famous literary/historical/mythological/cinematic brother/sister pairs?  Here are some that I’ve already got floating around my head:

I’ll explain further once the deed is done.  🙂

  1. Scout and Jem Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird
Charles and Camilla Macaulay from The Secret History
    Raggedy Ann and Andy
    The Bradys (Marsha-Greg, Jan-Peter, Cindy-Bobby)

That’s off the top of my head… 🙂

Jane & Michael Banks from Mary Poppins (the actors who portrayed them in the Disney movie have the same first names as my brother and I).

Brother Bear & Sister Bear from the Berenstein Bears (This is what B & I, who live but with an antenna, watch on Sundays. We feel badly for their lack of actual names. Also, I pondered this lately: if all the bears in Berenstein land were named by their relationship in their primary family, would that mean Brother and Sister might grow up to marry bears named Brother and Sister? And what if bears had several children? Would they get a longer name like Sister Number Two? Or better yet, Accident?)

And who can forget the Bobsey Twins, The Hardy Brothers, and those Sweet Valley High chicks–though I preferred step-sisters Dawn & Mary Anne from the Baby-Sitters club. Those were some good old fashioned working girls!

In contemporary times, you’ve got David Sedaris & his brother, or pair him up with his famous sister Amy. But they’re real people.

I think that’s all I’ve got for now.
